The grants are focused on supporting work that tackles the digital divide by providing digital and AI skills to women, youth, and marginalised groups, to improving their employability and economic independence. The funding covers training programmes, awareness initiatives, and job placement support.

In its first year Kyndryl Foundation supported nonprofits in the Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Japan, Poland and the United States.

This year it expanded its support to nonprofits in five additional countries: Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Spain and the United Kingdom.

In addition it has introduced multi-year grants (up to two years) in some cases to enhance their impact on communities.
