Google.org has announced a €15 million open call for applications that help scale initiatives promoting democratic resilience in the region, including through the use of advanced technology and AI.

The fund is available to eligible European nonprofits, civic entities, academic institutions, and social enterprises.

The Google.org Impact Challenge is seeking “high-impact proposals, particularly those leveraging technology in innovative ways, as well as coalitions of organisations coming together to create or scale a solution”. In particular it is inviting applications that

  • protect election integrity
  • support voter education, or
  • strengthen civic dialogue

Successful applications will receive from €250k up to €1 million+ in funding and additional support to accelerate their project.

Applications for the Google.org Impact Challenge opened on 25 June 2024 and will close on 9 August 2024. The organisations selected to receive funding will be announced in November 2024.
